Frequently Asked Questions

Why should we use Louisville Trivia in our bar or restaurant?

Louisville Trivia has been providing trivia content to clients since 2010, but we've been trivia-junkies all our lives. We know what works best to ensure the event is entertaining for your customers and keeps them coming back for more week after week!

How do we promote our events?

Louisville Trivia's Website, as well as Facebook and Twitter pages, are devoted to promoting the weekly pub quiz events. If your venue is added to our list of clients, your trivia event will be promoted on the front page of our Website and at least weekly on our social networking sites. We also have advertising materials available to post at your venue to help you ensure maximum turnout for your Louisville Trivia Pub Quiz event. Any outside promotion in newspapers or magazines will be your organization's responsibility.

When can we start?

It is important to work out all the specifics prior to your event. We recommend that you contact us at least one month in advance so we can work with you on advertising.

What other equipment do we need?

We will bring our own public address system (unless you already have one), answer sheets, and pens. You provide the venue and food or drink specials. With the help of our mutual promotion of the event, trivia-lovers will attend.

How long does each Trivia Quiz last?

Each pub quiz is six rounds of 10 questions, and is designed to last about two hours. Breaks between rounds allow for adequate intermission time and opportunity for purchasing food and drinks. For special corporate events or fundraisers, the game play can be customized.

What are the rules of play?

That can be answered with six simple points.

  • Come up with a creative team name.
  • Teams can have up to six people.
  • Write down your answers on the provided sheets, and bring them up at the end of each round.
  • Use teamwork, but don't yell out your answers. Other teams may hear you.
  • No cheating! It cheapens the game and you may be disqualified. Please put away your cell phones.
  • Order some food and drinks and enjoy yourself!

What is the ideal team size for each event?

Teams should have no more than six players. This allows for greater competition, yet provides a fair game for all teams, especially those that are newcomers.

What do you suggest we use for prizes?

We suggest that you award prizes for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place teams. Prizes normally consist of gift certificates to your venue, sports tickets, candy, t-shirts, store vouchers, and so on. Food and drink specials during the event are a nice bonus.

Are cell phones allowed during the event?

Participants can bring their cell phones, but we encourage everyone to put any Internet-connected device away during game play. We realize sometimes people have to answer important texts from mom, but we ask they do so in between rounds. The last thing we want to do is accuse someone of cheating and/or disqualify their team from winning prizes.

I just want to play. Where should I go?

All venues, dates, and times are listed on the Pub Quiz page.

Where can I find my team's scores?

The best place to find your team's league scores is on the Scores page.

How do I become a trivia host?

Have you ever wanted a job where you are paid to eat, drink, and interact with like-minded people while having a great time by just being yourself? Then you've come to the right place! Louisville Trivia is expanding and looking for amazing, well-spoken, engaging, meticulous people like you who have an overall love for all things trivia. Compensation is very competitive. Not bad for 2 1/2 hours of work, if you ask us!

Hosts have the opportunity to take our show on the road to multiple bars. If you find new locations, you stand to make a healthy commission as well! It's a fun and easy way to make some extra money while spending one evening (or more) in the pub each week. When you become a host, your picture and profile will be placed on this page, where pubs can browse your profile and contact you independently to host their leagues.
